Welcome to The Asylum

Where weird is welcome.

The world can be loud, exhausting, judgmental, and far too concerned with what counts as “normal.” The Asylum is meant to be something different.

It’s a growing corner of Favole Productions built around storytelling, laughter, mindfulness, nerd culture, joyful escapism, and the simple idea that sometimes we all need somewhere we can stop performing for the world and just be.

Come as you are. Bring the things you love. Geek out unapologetically. Laugh at something ridiculous. Take a break when you need one.

You belong here.

Our Mission

Create a place where people can escape without having to hide.

The Asylum exists to create entertaining, comforting, and occasionally chaotic experiences that give people permission to step away from the noise for a while.

Through stories, conversations, mindfulness, fandom, gaming, humor, and whatever else we discover along the way, the goal is simple:

Help people feel a little lighter, a little less alone, and a little more comfortable being exactly who they are.

This isn’t about escaping life forever.

Sometimes you just need somewhere safe to land before heading back out there.

Our Vision

Build a community where belonging doesn’t require fitting in.

My hope is that The Asylum grows beyond any one podcast, platform, character, or series.

I want it to become a creative community where people can connect over the things that bring them joy, discover stories and ideas that make their day a little better, and find moments of calm alongside plenty of wonderfully strange fun.

  • A place where mindfulness can live next to video games.
  • Where comforting stories can coexist with chaotic fandom debates.
  • Where growing up doesn’t mean giving up the things that make you happy.
  • And where being different isn’t something that needs to be explained away.

You don’t have to fit in to belong here.

So... Why Call It an Asylum?

Fair question. For me, an Asylum has never been about shutting people away; it’s about giving them somewhere to belong. It’s a playful reclamation of the idea of being “crazy,” “weird,” “too much,” or somehow outside what the rest of the world considers normal. The Asylum flips that around.

Here, the wonderfully strange things about you aren’t something you need to leave at the door. They’re probably the reason someone will pull up a chair next to you.

The name is intentionally a little mischievous. The meaning behind it isn’t.

Meet Psypris

She’s not exactly a character, but not simply “just Cari”, either.

Psypris began as my gamer handle and online alias back when having an internet handle was practically mandatory. And then she… stuck around. Over the years, Psypris became the slightly more chaotic version of me who shows up when I’m gaming, podcasting, entertaining, talking about the things I love, or wandering enthusiastically into some corner of nerd culture.

She’s still me. Just with the volume turned up a little.

Today, Psypris sits at the heart of The Asylum and Psypris’ Asylum: Embrace Insanity, but she’s also continuing to evolve alongside the stories, characters, videos, and creative experiments I’m building through Favole Productions.

Enter Psypris' Asylum

Wind down. Geek out. Embrace a little insanity.

Psypris’ Asylum: Embrace Insanity is a storytelling podcast where mindfulness, comforting stories, chaotic nerd culture, nostalgia, and the occasional wonderfully strange tangent all share the same room.

It’s a love letter to the neurodivergent, the nostalgic, the geeks, the storytellers, and anyone who occasionally needs a break from taking the world quite so seriously.

Some days we slow things down. Some days we disappear into stories.
Some days we geek out. And some days the inmates are very clearly running the Asylum.

What The Asylum May Become

The Asylum is still growing. Over time, you’ll find more stories, videos, mini-series, mindfulness moments, gaming adventures, characters, conversations, and other creative experiments taking shape here. I don’t know exactly what every corner will look like yet. And I love that.

I’d rather let this community grow around the things we genuinely enjoy than manufacture a bunch of features simply because the internet says a “community” is supposed to have them. What I can promise is the spirit behind it:

Be kind. Stay curious. Make room for each other. And never be afraid to get a little weird.

So, Welcome

Whether you found your way here through a story, a game, a podcast episode, or one extremely questionable Google search, I’m glad you’re here.

Explore the Asylum. Find something that makes you laugh. Stay for something that makes you think. And when the outside world gets a little too loud?

You know where to find us.
