For me, cosplay has always been about more than putting on a costume. It’s a form of performance art.

Once I step into a character, the performance leaves the stage and moves into the real world. Conventions, public spaces, photo shoots, and unexpected interactions become the setting, with plenty of improvisation along the way. You never quite know who you’ll meet, what they’ll say, or how they’ll react, so part of the fun is figuring out how the character would respond in the moment.

I also love the transformation itself, from putting together costumes and props to experimenting with makeup, wigs, expressions, movement, and personality.
